Capital Gearing Trust PLC (CGT.L), a British investment trust, on Thursday reported a rise in earnings for the full year.
For the 12-month period to March 31, the company posted a net return of GBP 45.388 million, compared with GBP 35.991 million in the previous year. Net return per share stood at 271.70 pence, higher than 179.85 pence per share a year ago.
Net return before tax was GBP 45.388 million as against the prior year's GBP 36.034 million.
Total equity shareholders' funds stood at GBP 801.311 million, compared with GBP 885.025 million last year. Net asset value per share moved up to 5,104 pence from the previous year's 4,924 pence per share.
Gross return improved to GBP 50.317 million from GBP 41.497 million in the previous year. Net gains on currency swap contracts surged to GBP 15.541 million from last year's GBP 1.354 million. Net gains on investments increased to GBP 16.995 million from GBP 13.059 million a year ago.
The Board will pay a final dividend of 66 pence per share on July 15 to the shareholders on the register as of June 12.
