Weezer Announce New Self-Titled Album, Share Lead Single 'We Might As Well Be Strangers'

Weezer have announced a new self-titled album set to drop on August 21 via Reprise/Warner Records.

The band also released the project's lead single, "We Might As Well Be Strangers," featuring Wednesday frontwoman Karly Hartzman.

Serving as their 16th studio album and 20th overall, Weezer came out of back-to-basics sessions with all four members of the group- Rivers Cuomo, Patrick Wilson, Brian Bell, and Scott Shriner - at their rehearsal space.

The project was produced by Klas Ahlund and Kenneth Blume (fka Kenny Beats), the latter of whom said he wanted to make "the most violent Weezer album ever."
