Phoenix Technologies Ltd. (PTEC) on Tuesday said it closed the buyout of General Software, Inc., a provider of embedded firmware. With the completion of the deal, Steve Jones, Founder and Chairman of General Software, is now Vice President and Chief Scientist of Embedded Solutions at Phoenix Technologies, and the entire General Software team would continue to maintain operations out of Bellevue, as a part of the Phoenix Technologies global team.
