Allegiant Air June Traffic Rises - Update

Allegiant Air, LLC, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Allegiant Travel Co. (ALGT) Tuesday announced preliminary traffic results, reporting an increase in both June and second quarter traffic and capacity.

For the month of June, total system traffic, measured in revenue passenger miles, or RPMs, increased 25.6% to 468.80 million, while capacity measured in available seat miles, or ASMs, rose 29.0% to 527.26 million from the prior-year month. Total system load factor, however, dropped 2.4 percentage points to 88.9% from 91.3% in the same month a year ago.

For the second quarter, total system traffic was up 25.0% at 1.30 billion RPMs and capacity rose 24.7% to 1.47 billion ASMs from the corresponding quarter last year. Total system load factor was down 0.2 percentage points at 88.2% compared to 88.0% in the prior-year quarter.

Scheduled Service's June traffic jumped 34.1% to 445.12 million RPMs, while capacity rose 37.8% to 486.65 million ASMs from the same month a year ago. Load factor, however, declined 2.5 points to 91.5% from 94.0% in the prior-year month.

For the second quarter, scheduled Service traffic rose 30.7% to 1.23 billion RPMs and capacity increased 30.3% to 1.35 billion ASMs from the corresponding quarter a year ago. Load factor was up 0.3 percentage points at 90.8% compared to 90.5% in the year-ago quarter.

ALGT is currently trading at $39.09, down $0.18 or 0.46%, on the Nasdaq.
