Toni Braxton hit number one with her single "Un-Break My Heart" on December 7, 1996.

The song would hold the top spot for 11 weeks. It took over the number-one slot from "No Diggity" by BLACKstreet featuring Dr. Dre, and was eventually knocked off by "Wannabe" by the Spice Girls.

"Un-Break My Heart" was written by Diane Warren, who penned such hits as Aerosmith's "Don't Want To Miss A Thing," and was produced by veteran hitmaker David Foster, who has also worked with the likes of Celine Dion and Christina Aguilera.

The tune appeared on Braxton's "Secrets" album, which also produced the number-one hit "You're Makin' Me High."
