Johnny Cash's classic song "Folsom Prison Blues" was released on December 15, 1955.

Inspired by the 1951 movie "Inside the Walls of Folsom Prison," the song features the famous line, "I shot a man in Reno / just to watch him die."

Cash would eventually perform a famous concert in Folsom Prison, which is located near Sacramento, California. The show, which took place in early 1968, was eventually released as the live album, "At Folsom Prison."
