Earth, Wind and Fire hit the top of the Billboard 200 chart with their second album, a double live set titled “Gratitude,” on January 17, 1976. The album also topped the Soul/Black Albums chart and includes the singles “Sing A Song” and “Can’t Hide Love.” When “Gratitude” hit number one, it bumped “Chicago IX - Chicago's Greatest Hits” by Chicago out of the top spot. They held on for three weeks at number one before “Desire” by Bob Dylan hit number one. The album’s success was fueled largely by the success of “Sing A Song,” which rose to number five on the Billboard 200 chart. It also held the number one spot on the Soul singles chart and has been featured in films including “Something's Gotta Give” and “The Color of Friendship.”
