1977 - Release of Fleetwood Mac's 'Rumours'

Fleetwood Mac's "Rumours," one of the best-selling albums in rock history, was released on February 4, 1977.

The album was the second Fleetwood Mac effort after the addition of Lindsey Buckingham and Stevie Nicks. It was recorded during a turbulent period in the band's history. Buckingham and Nicks broke off their relationship during the production, and fellow band members John McVie and Christine McVie ended their marriage.

The LP included the hits "Don't Stop," "Go Your Own Way," "The Chain" and "Gold Dust Woman."

"Rumours" held the top spot on the Billboard 200 album chart for 31 total weeks, including 19 consecutive weeks in the summer and fall of that year.
