Singer-songwriter Michelle Branch was born Michelle Jacquet DeSevren Branch in Sedona, Arizona on July 2, 1983. She was born to David and Peggy Branch, and has an older brother named David and younger sister named Nicole.Branch began studying music at the age of three, taking voice lessons at Northern Arizona University. She began playing guitar and writing songs by the age of fourteen and was soon playing local gigs. Her parents were supportive of her music career and helped her release an independent album named “Broken Bracelet” in 1998. Branch soon caught the eye of teen trio Hanson, who invited her on tour, leading to a deal with Maverick Records. Branch became a household name with her hit single “Everywhere,” which hit number 12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Branch reportedly penned the track specifically for her first album because she was in need of a single.
