Led Zeppelin released their eighth studio effort, “In Through the Out Door,” on August 15, 1979. The album followed their 1975 release “Presence,” and includes their classic tracks “All My Love” and “Fool in the Rain.”The album hit the top of the Billboard 200 chart on September 15, 1979, bumping “Get the Knack” by the Knack from the top spot. They held on through November 2 of that year at number one before “The Long Run” by the Eagles moved into the top spot. This was the last of Zeppelin’s six number one hit albums. “Fool in the Rain” was also their last single to chart. It hit number one on the Hot 100 charts and, though it is a fan favorite, it was never performed live. According to songfacts.com, the piano and bass lines were too integral to leave out of the song and John Paul Jones could only play one at a time.
