Usher released his second studio album “My Way” on September 16, 1997. The album followed his self-titled 1994 album and featured the singles "Nice & Slow", "My Way" and "You Make Me Wanna..."The album peaked at number four on the Billboard 200 chart and topped the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart. When it hit number one on that chart in January of 1998, it claimed the top spot from “R U Still Down? (Remember Me)” by Tupac. He held on for three weeks before “Money, Power & Respect” by the Lox hit number one. The lead single “You Make Me Wanna” hit number 2 on the Hot 100 chart and Usher recalled the track in the book “1000 U.K. #1 Hits” saying:“‘You Make Me Wanna' was about a man having problems with his girlfriend and turning to another female for comfort. Before long he found he was falling in love with the other girl. It was one of the last songs that we cut. As soon as we heard it, we knew that it should be the first one to release from the album."
