Alternative rockers Live released their mega-popular album "Throwing Copper" on April 26, 1994.One of the most recognizable albums of the mid-1990s, the LP featured singles like "Selling the Drama," "I Alone" and "Lightning Crashes," which would be their biggest hit. "Throwing Copper" was the band's second studio album. Their debut effort, 1991's "Mental Jewelry" had garnered some attention, but was generally ignored by a mainstream audience."Throwing Copper" would represent a breakthrough. It would reach the top of the Billboard 200 album chart (one of only two albums from the band to do so; they would also score a number one with their follow-up, 1997's "Secret Samadhi"). Recorded during the summer of 1993 in Minnesota, "Throwing Copper" was produced by the band and Jerry Harrison, a former member of Talking Heads. The distinctive album cover features a painting by artist Peter Howson called "Sisters of Mercy."
