Slipknot drummer Joey Jordison was born on April 26, 1975. He was born at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa and lived with his family in the rural area of Waukee, outside of Des Moines. His parents split when Joey was young and he lived with his mother and sisters, often spending time working at his mother’s funeral parlor. He became a metal devotee in high school and says most of his peers couldn’t relate:“I couldn’t talk to anybody because they had no clue what I was talking about. They were all too busy playing basketball or making football teams during recess,” he explained in the book “Slipknot: Inside the Sickness, Behind the Masks” by Jason Arnopp.
