Maria Franca Fissolo of Italy is placed fourth on the list of the richest women in the world, with her worth of $25.2 billion. She is the richest person in Italy. Maria’s father-in-law created the spread that became Nutella, the nut spread popular all over the world. Her late husband, Michele Ferrero, built the Ferrero Group into a snacks powerhouse with top-notch brands Ferrero Rocher, Kinder Chocolate, Kinder eggs, Tic Tacs, Mon Cheri, Rafaello and of course, Nutella. She now owns Ferrero Spa after her husband’s death in 2015, and her son runs the company. It is currently the second largest confectionary company in Europe. She married Michele Ferrero in 1962, and they had two sons together, Giovanni Ferrero and Pietro Ferrero Jr. Pietro died in an accident in 2011. Maria is now aged 75 years and a grandmother of five. She lives in Monaco.
