Mozambique is situated in South East Africa, and the capital and largest city is Maputo. Mozambique has a population of approximately 23.9 million people. Average life expectancy is at 50.7 years and the median age is around 17 years. Mozambique has only 40 doctors for every million of its citizens. The lack of healthcare personnel is a major problem faced by Mozambique. Most professionals move to other countries to seek better opportunities. There is always a shortage of necessary drugs, so locals often resort to traditional medicine. Mozambique is plagued by severe HIV, malaria, and cholera.
