Cronos Group, a Canadian licensed producer and distributor of medical cannabis that also has a footprint in Germany, Israel, and Australia, stood in sixth position among the world’s biggest marijuana companies with a stock market capitalization of $1.24 billion. The company recently became the first pure-play cannabis company to trade on a major U.S. stock exchange, the Nasdaq.Cronos operates two wholly-owned Canadian licensed producers under Health Canada's Access to Cannabis for Medical Purposes Regulations: Peace Naturals Project Inc. and Original BC Ltd. In March, Cronos and MM Enterprises USA said they formed a cross-border joint venture to cater to Canadian consumers ahead of Canada’s plans to legalize adult use of cannabis this year.
