Corcept Therapeutics Inc.’s (CORT) New Drug Application for Relacorilant in hypercortisolism is under FDA review, with a decision expected on December 30, 2025.Hypercortisolism is caused by excessive activity of cortisol, often referred to as the “stress hormone.” Common symptoms include hypertension, central obesity, elevated blood sugar or difficult-to-control type 2 diabetes, severe fatigue, and muscle weakness. Irritability, anxiety, depression, and cognitive difficulties are also frequent. Hypercortisolism can affect virtually every organ system and may be life-threatening if not treated effectively. Elevated cortisol levels can result from stress or certain medical conditions, such as Cushing’s syndrome or adrenal gland disorders.Relacorilant is an oral selective glucocorticoid receptor (GR) antagonist. It modulates cortisol activity by binding only to the GR and not to other hormone receptors. The company already has an approved drug by the name Korlym to control high blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia) in adults with endogenous Cushing’s syndrome.CORT closed Wednesday’s (November 26, 2025) trading at $79.80, down 0.60%.
