2005 - Michael Jackson Found Not Guilty Of Child Abuse

Michael Jackson was found not guilty of child abuse and molestation charges on June 13, 2005. Jackson had previously faced similar charges in a 1993 when a 13-year-old boy named Jordan Chandler accused him of sexual misconduct. That case was settled out of court.

The singer’s second child-abuse investigation was launched after British television host Martin Bashir aired his controversial biography of the singer titled “Living With Michael Jackson.” In the film Jackson is seen describing incidents in which he shared a bed with young boys.

Throughout the trial, which lasted five months, Jackson maintained that such sleepovers were not sexual in nature. After the trial concluded, one juror told the Washington Post that there simply wasn’t enough evidence to convict Jackson.

"The evidence said it all," said one of the jurors. "We had a closet full of evidence that made us come back to the same thing -- that there wasn't enough. Things didn't add up.”
