Song parody writer "Weird Al" Yankovic was born on October 23, 1959. He grew up in Lynwood, California, where he learned accordion as a kid. At 16, Yankovic met Dr. Demento, a radio host who specialized in odd-ball and comedy songs, and gave him a demo tape. One of the songs ended up on the show. "Weird Al" would release his debut self-titled album in 1983, featuring "Ricky" (a song about "I Love Lucy" set to the melody of the Toni Basil track "Mickey") and "My Bologna" (a song about lunch meat set to the tune of the Knack's mega-popular "My Sharona").Yankovic would go on to release 12 studio albums, the last being 2006's "Straight Outta Lynwood." Another album is expected late this year or early next year.
