John Lennon first met his future wife Yoko Ono on November 9, 1966. The two were introduced the day before Ono's avant-garde art show. The pieces on display included an apple that patrons could buy and watch decompose at home. John would later remember that he was most struck by a piece that was made up by a ladder and a magnifying glass hanging from the ceiling. Once he climbed the ladder and held up the magnifying glass, the Beatle could read tiny letters that spelled out the word "Yes."
