International Business Machines Corp. (IBM) announced that it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire Initiate Systems. Initiate Systems is a privately held company based in Chicago, IL. Financial details were not disclosed.
Initiate Systems provides data integrity software for information sharing among healthcare and government organizations.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2010. IBM intends to integrate the Initiate organization with its Information Management business after the closing.
