Anthrax have confirmed that guitar player Jon Donais will be a full time member of the band. Donais stepped in to fill the void for previous guitarist Rob Caggiano, who left the band to become a member of Volbeat.

Donais previously played with Shadows Fall before joining up with 'Thrax.

Scott Ian broke the news to Metal Hammer magazine:

"Jon's been with us since February and I think I can safely say he's passed the audition. I know we haven't said anything official yet, but in my mind he's the guy. As far as I'm concerned Jon is the guitar player in Anthrax."

The band has undergone a handful of lineup changes in recent months and has also been without Charlie Benante, who took some time off for personal reasons. He later revealed that he underwent surgery for carpal tunnel syndrome.
