Henderson European Trust Plc (HET.L) Monday reported net return before taxation of 4.29 million pounds loss for the first half compared with profit of 67.74 million pounds in the comparable period last year, primarily due to loss on investments.
Net return after taxation was a loss of 4.74 million pounds or 1.48p per share compared with profit of 67.56 million pounds or 31.75p per share last year.
The company recorded a loss of 6.51 million pounds on investments held at fair value through profit or loss for the half-year period compared with gain of 66.32 million pounds a year ago.
Net asset value per share decreased to 199.73p from 206.83p last year.
