Royal Bank of Canada (RY) announced a profit for its second quarter that Increases, from the same period last year

The company's bottom line totaled C$5.372 billion, or C$3.85 per share. This compares with C$4.274 billion, or C$3.02 per share, last year.

Excluding items, Royal Bank of Canada reported adjusted earnings of C$5.446 billion or C$3.90 per share for the period.

The company's revenue for the period rose 11.4% to C$17.453 billion from C$15.672 billion last year.
