1992 - Boyz II Men Hit #1 With 'End Of The Road'

Boyz II Men hit the top of the Billboard 200 chart with “End of the Road” on August 15, 1992. The track was released off both the soundtrack to the Eddie Murphy comedy “Boomerang” and the 1993 reissue of their hit album “Cooleyhighharmony.”

When the track hit number one on the chart, it claimed the top spot from "This Used to Be My Playground" by Madonna. The group stayed at number one for 13 weeks before "How Do You Talk to an Angel" by the Heights claimed the top spot.

The track was written by Babyface specifically for a breakup scene in the film. He initially planned to record the track himself, but then decided along with L.A. Reid that Boyz II Men would be a better fit. They cut the entire vocal in three hours before heading out on tour.
