Boyz II Men topped the charts on September, 17, 1994 with their sophomore release, “II.” Two songs from the disc, “I’ll Make Love To You” and “On Bended Knee,” topped the Billboard Hot 100. “On Bended Knee” actually replaced “I’ll Make Love To You” at the top of the chart, making the group the first in 30 years to achieve such a feat, and – at the time – the third act, after Elvis Presley and the Beatles, to do so. On the strength of those hits and others, including “Thank You” and “Water Runs Dry,” the album spent five weeks at the top of the Billboard 200 and won a Grammy Award for Best R&B Album.
