Heavy metal legend Ozzy Osbourne was born on December 3, 1948. The future Black Sabbath frontman grew up in Birmingham, England. John Michael Osbourne would take on the nickname "Ozzy" while in school, which he left when he was 15. The band that would become known as Black Sabbath began to come together in the late 1960s. The name, borrowed from a Boris Karloff movie, would first be used in 1969, with their self-titled debut album coming out the following year.Ozzy would leave the band in 1980 to begin a successful solo career, starting with the album "Blizzard of Ozz." His latest LP, "Scream," was released in 2010.
