10 Most Welcoming Nations For Refugees

#9 United States
#9 United States

The U.S. stood ninth on the list of the most-welcoming countries, with a score of 60. Nearly three-fourths of people in the U.S., or 72 percent, are willing to let refugees into the country.

15 percent of Americans are even willing to make refugees welcome in their own homes. 63 percent of the respondents said the U.S. government should do more to help refugees fleeing war or persecution.

Currently, only one percent of the global refugee population is even considered for candidacy for resettlement in the U.S. In September, the White House pledged to admit just 10,000 Syrian refugees into the country.
