Jordan stood eighth among the top-ten refugee welcoming countries, with a score of 65. The small Middle Eastern country already hosts over 640,000 refugees from neighboring Syria. Despite having welcomed refugees in huge numbers, 94 percent of Jordanians are still willing to accept people into their country. 84 percent of Jordanians said their government should do more to help refugees. Last year, the Arab kingdom had denied entry to over 12,000 refugees who remained in dire conditions in the desert area on the Jordanian side of the border with Syria.
