10 Most Welcoming Nations For Refugees

#5 Australia
#5 Australia

Australia is the fifth-most welcoming country for refugees and had an overall score of 73. A majority of Australians, or 85 percent, said they are personally willing to accept people fleeing war or persecution into their country, while 13 percent are ready to accept refugees into their home.

The federal government should reconsider its current refugee intake policy in light of the research, Amnesty International refugee coordinator Graham Thom said in a statement. In September 2015, the Australian government announced that it would resettle an additional 12,000 Syrian refugees in response to the crisis in the Middle East.
