The Supremes recorded their number-one hit track “Come See About Me” in studio A at Motown’s Hitsville U.S.A. studio in Detroit, Michigan on July 13, 1964. The track was penned by the legendary songwriting trio of Brian Holland, Lamont Dozier and Eddie Holland. The track was released as the third single from the Supreme’s second studio LP “Where Did Our Love Go?” and was their third straight number-one hit. Motown had already released the title track as a single and after it shot to the top of the charts, the writers quickly headed back into the studio to churn out a few more hits: “Come See About Me’ and ‘Baby Love’ were recorded in the same two weeks after we found out ‘Where Did Our Love Go?’ was such a big smash. Brian came up with the melody for ‘Baby Love’ and I came up with ‘Come See About Me,’” Dozier told Billboard.
