Pink Floyd played one of their earliest gigs on October 14, 1966, appearing at the London Free School. The band's early performances relied heavily on instrumentals, such as "Interstellar Overdrive," which was part of the London Free School set list and would would eventually appear on their debut album, "The Piper At The Gates Of Dawn," which would come out the following year. "Astronomy Dominé," "Pow R. Toc H." and "Matilda Mother" are among the other "Piper" songs that were played at the October 14 show.
