The War and Treaty have signed with Atlantic Outpost and announced a new album, The Story of Michael and Tanya, set for release on June 19.
The 10-track album, which follows last year's Plus One, features collaborations with Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Whoopi Goldberg, Valerie June and Wynonna.
The two-time Grammy Award-nominated duo also released a new single, "Don't Say Goodbye," from the upcoming fifth studio album.
The duo will celebrate the release of the album with a headline show at the Ryman Auditorium on September 13. Presales start on Tuesday, May 12th, ahead of the general sale on Friday, May 15th, at 10 am local time.
"For The War And Treaty, feeling every aspect of what we're writing and singing has grown from representing routine emotions to now demanding that people connect with our spirit," says Michael Trotter.
"Evoking hard, honest emotions first required me to find those parts in myself," Tanya Trotter adds. "Once you find them, there's a strength to the urgency that feels like you'll be at your wits' end if you don't express that emotion."
