Toni Braxton Reaches Number One With 'Un-Break My Heart' 15 Years Ago

1979 - 'London Calling' (Single) Released
1979 - 'London Calling' (Single) Released

The Clash released "London Calling," perhaps the band's most recognizable song, as a single on December 7, 1979.

The tune served as the title track to the band's third studio album, a double LP that also included "Train in Vain," "The Guns of Brixton," "Brand New Cadillac" and "Rudie Can't Fail."

The single would reach number 11 in the U.K., which would prove to be the band's highest-reaching single in their home country. "London Calling" would be released with "Armagideon Time" as a B-side. The cover art for the single would be a parody of old RCA Victor sleeves.
