She held on through January 6, 1978 when the “Saturday Night Fever” soundtrack hit number one on the chart. “Blue Bayou” peaked at number 2 on the U.S. pop chart and hit number one in Ireland. The track was in the top five simultaneously with “It’s So Easy,” making Linda the first artist since the Beatles to have two songs in the top five at the same time.
