Janis Joplin was arrested at her own concert on November 15, 1969.A year after performing her final show with Big Brother And The Holding Company, Joplin was giving a solo gig in Tampa, Florida. Fans were standing up and dancing, and a police officer was trying to get them to sit back down.From the stage, Joplin told the cop "Don't f**k with those people." The confrontation escalated, with the officer insisting Joplin tell concertgoers to remain in their seats. "I'm not telling them s**t," she told him and threatened to attack him. After the show, she was arrested in her dressing room for vulgar and indecent language. She put up $500 in bail and the charges were eventually dropped.
