Former Santana drummer Michael Shrieve has announced that his much-anticipated album, Drums of Compassion, is set to be released on May 24 via Trey Gunn's innovative label, 7D Media.

The album features collaboration with Gunn, Jack DeJohnette, Zakir Hussain, Airto Moreira and special guest Babatunde Olatunji, among others.

Drums of Compassion was recorded in the iconic Robert Lang and London Bridge Studios in Seattle during a serendipitous gathering of artists at the Bumbershoot Festival.

Shrieve's collaboration with Soundmaster Jeff Greinke lays the foundation of the album with ambient, space-evoking melodies that serve as a backdrop to the dynamic percussive elements.
